Singer-songwriter, post-modern crooner Cass McCombs has composed another brilliant album. Dropping the Writ dropped in stores in late October and I would suggest that everyone scurries out right now to buy this one – actually you should have his whole catalogue as each record has a completely different vibe. You should also catch him live as his voice is hauntingly beautiful. Last night, after performing songs mostly from his new release, Cass joined the idiosyncratic band Ariel Pink on stage. As it happens, Ariel Pink were his back-up band as well. Musically incestuous, it was a great live evening.
