With still-unproven connections to Osama Bin Laden and international terrorist networks, Iraq remains under U.S. led occupation and continues to endure systematic destruction of its people and land. On April 29th, there will be a massive demonstration in New York City organized by a number of groups including United for Peace and Justice, RainbowPUSH Coalition, National Organization for Women, Friends of the Earth, U.S. Labor Against the War, Climate Crisis Coalition, Peoples' Hurricane Relief Fund, National Youth and Student Peace Coalition, and Veterans For Peace. These groups are not only calling for the end of wars for oil but also for protection of civil liberties and rights for immigrants, tax reform calling for the end of tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy and an urgent plea to address worsening, preventable environmental conditions.
