They Just Don’t Make Music Like They Did in 2007
Mist and Mast, a band new to my ears, have three beautifully crafted mp3s from 2007 available on their site! To sweeten the pot, *they have even agreed to send you a free CD and band “koozie” simply by showing them that you have contributed at least $20.00 to the Obama campaign!
Mist and Mast is an Oakland, California band that was born out of the 8-track home recordings of singer/songwriter/guitarist Jason Lakis. To further his generous sharing of music, Jason assembled a touring band of Craig Adams on guitar, Bill French on drums, and Alex Steinhart on bass. I will venture to RIYL the following (and I hope they find these reasonable and flattering comparisons), Field Music, School of Language, Shins, Cass McCombs, Pinback, Radar Bros…dare I say ELO? Well, I should say, any textured melodic pop that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside and out.
