This month, Brooklyn-based label White Shoe Records has re-released the debut album by Water Fai entitled Girls in the White Dream. Hailing from Osaka, Japan, Water Fai have garnered the “post rock” classification that is attributed to many of the bands that they site as influences on their MySpace page (Slowdive, Yo La Tengo, Sea and Cake, The Album Leaf). It’s simple, airy guitar akin to American shoegazers of the 1990s like Seely or current day artists like Explosions in the Sky.
